| | | Theridiosomatidae Theridiosoma gemmosum? Hi,
I found a pic of this spider which looks like one I had on 21st May 2009. It was around 2mm.
Is this correct? I found on the British Spiders site that this is said to be below an invisible line from the Wash to Anglesey, as usual I'm a little above that but not by far. Summary for Theridiosoma gemmosum
The pic I found originally is on this site.
Janet

So, as a distinctly unexpert suggestion: I wonder if the abdomen is sufficiently silvery for T. gemmosum which is a rather uncommon species. Would the much more widespread Theridion mystaceum be a suitable alternative?
The size matches but this family are all rather variable in markings. |

| | | Re: Theridiosomatidae Theridiosoma gemmosum? Thanks for the input Geoff, maybe it's because of the rarity that no-one is willing to have a go!
I still think it's a very good match for Theridiosoma gemmosum, but there might be something else similar! But, looking at the pic on the site I found it on if you place them side by side they do look alike. http://www.pavouci-cz.eu/Data/Therid...osum_51108.jpg
Look at Theridion mystaceum on eurospiders, the pattern is quite different in all cases. Theridion mystaceum photos and info
Rarity is no stranger to me..
