hi bruce when was the photo taken ? it looks like mothercare spider ( Theridion Sisiphium) they if if that spider you only see them in summer to autumn but iu may be completley wrong i am usally  |

Hi faz - Thanks for your suggestions. The pic was taken on 21st September this year and certainly aphid is a possibility as there's always a few walking the fence rails around that time.
