| | | European Garden Spider? ID?
Can anyone confirm that this is a European Garden Spider?
(I'm quite pleased with the photo - but not sure it is very good for ID purposes). |

Looks like the Garden Spider Araneus diadematus. It’s also missing most of a leg on (its) right-hand side.
Best wishes

I think I can see all eight legs. On (it's) left side you can see the rear femur, but the patella is hidden by it (I think!). The femur of leg III is hidden by leg II.
Does anyone concur??
It is a very strange optical illusion none-the-less!

Mark | Actually, it's in tact. I checked it over before allowing it into the studio. Nothing missing. It was just playing to the audience for sympathy for its late Autumn plight.
Bu thanks, everyone for help with ID | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
