| | | [ID] 2 Spiders Does anyone know what these two are...
I think this a Coelotes sp, found in a Limstone quarry in Wales and they where everywhere. They sure where putting my fear of Spiders to the test
This was also found in the same area...just to give you an idea of size, the snails in the photo are no more than 3 mm. |

| | | Re: [ID] 2 Spiders I think you're right about the Coelotes (looks rather like C. terrestris); the other one, possibly Bolyphantes? Just a guess, there may be a lot of other candidates.

| | | Re: [ID] 2 Spiders Possibly Coelotes atropos given the location? The Updated Distribution Maps - British Arachnological Society Coelotes terrestris tends to be a bit sparse in the direction of South Wales The Updated Distribution Maps - British Arachnological Society
However, given the location and it being a quarry there could be a colony of C. terrestris there, may be worth collecting a specimen and getting a positive I.D.

| | | Re: [ID] 2 Spiders Thanks both...
Bolyphantes does look similar...i believe there are two species in the UK?
Regarding the Coelotes sp...yes i believe C. atropos looks to be the best bet on distrubution. I will take your advive and send one off...would you need a male/female or can both sexes be id from? |
