| | | spider eggs on curtains Hi, im new to this forum, i've just noticed what i think is a mouse spider has decided that my curtains would be a good place to deposit 2 egg sacks. just wondering if anyone had any suggestion wether i will damage them if i remove them to another location, i think spiders are cool and everything, but dont really want the little buggers hatching out all over my wifes lovely curtains. female is with eggs. any suggestions would be appreciated |

| | | Re: spider eggs on curtains I had one recently that laid an egg sac, I had it captive at the time and dident want 40 or so new spiderlings running about my house, because they are a wandering spider and leave web trails all over the place, so when they hatched I released them outside.
I would try and capture the female in a container, then try and carefully scrape the egg sac off with a razor blade, watch out though, they get quite aggressive when they are guarding eggs .
And just for your information, mine took about two months to hatch ... |

| | | Re: spider eggs on curtains Thanks a lot for your help, gordon. I wanted to get rid of them, but wasn't sure if moving the egg sack was going to damage the eggs, so cheers for clearing that up. I think im going to put them in a plastic jar with a mesh top, so my kids can watch them hatch before i release them (outside the house!).
They might have a long wait though....3 months you say... |
