spider ID please


This spider was seen yesterday its body was the size of a marble and its legs were about an inch long. We are in West Yorkshire.

It's an orb weaver. Possibly Araneus Diadematus or Quadratus.

The orb weavers we have in the uk are harmless. What happened with the guy from Matlock? I can't remember.

Oh yeah I remember that now. Yes you are safer. The spider you found will probably die this winter anyway.
