| | | Re: Big wolf spider Whereabouts did you see it? If anywhere near a riverbank/lakeside/beach type area then have a Google for Arctosa cinerea althhough I think this is regarded as a 'northern' species.

Have a look also at Arctosa perita, it's a bit more common and comparatively coastal in distribution as well as occuring inland.
