Wolf type spider but which one?

I have guessed that this is of the wolf type family of which there are many so can anyone please give a closer identification from this photograph taken by my wife Margaret?

That's Pisaura mirabilis, the nursery web spider. In the netherlands it's considered to be a large wolf spider, although it's not part of the Lycosidae family.

That specimen is rather grey and poorly marked so I can understand your confusion, Brian. I would have had to think hard before the 'penny finally dropped' there.
