| | | Tube Spider I have just discovered 10 of these in the exterior wall of my house living in holes. Do they stay outside? or are they prone to coming indoors when the weather cools down? |

| | | Re: Tube Spider In my old house we had lots of these (I take it you mean the all black Segestria florentina?) living outside the front door. None ever came into our house. I have seen a lot of these in many locations, but only know of one instance of one being found indoors.
They can be aggresive, and are said to have a painful bite, but I just leave them alone and have never had any problems. |

| | | Re: Tube Spider Thanks for that and yes I did mean the all black Segestria florentina.
I can just about cope with them being in the garden, just wanted a bit of warning if I might come face to face with one indoors!! |

| | | Re: Tube Spider Never known them indoors. Think the only time they wander around a bit is when the male is trying to locate a female to breed.
They'd only bite if you stuck your finger down the 'tube' and that's unlikely to happen isn't it?

They do wonder and do occasionally come indoors, especially if windows and doors are often left open after dusk.
When found walking around outside the webs its almost always females i see. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
