Question about crab spider

Evening All,
Will a crab spider take a butterfly, in the attached picture their is a crab spider lurking, in this instance the gatekeeper flew off.

Most probably! Surprising how large their prey can be.

Misumena vatia can take quite large prey.

Thanks Hedera and John, do crab spiders eat their prey almost immediately or do they have them as a smoothie at leisure.

Enzymes are injected that digest to insect, then it is soup time.

Misumena vatia can catch a bumble bee, and strike it dead in time to not have it fly off.

It's a Common Blue + not a Gatekeeper in the photo!
