Is this Tegenaria domestica? Markings on the abdomen doesn't quite fit the pics I've seen but it's the closest I've got so far.

As far as I am aware you'd need a very close-up view of your male spider's pedi-palps to get to species-level. The dorsal pattern is variable, may change with age and of course on the good ol' 'Net you can get mis-identifications, too.
