electronic spider repellers

im not sure whether this has been dealt with before but has anyone tried an electronic(plug-in) device for ridding your house of spiders?

as september is approaching and im already dreading the invasion of those HUGE male tegs, im looking for a reliable method of deterring the b------!

Is there such a thing? I have recently seen advertised a spray containing chestnut extract for a great price! Cheaper to collect conkers. Or get a spider-catcher and put them out in the shed!

apparently there is! i know there are sprays you can buy but dont know how well these work either---and dont know whether theyre cost effective.
as for the conker idea--unfortunately they wont be available in time for this years 'invasion!' also--how long do the conkers provide effective repellant?

Keep all the doors and windows shut, block up all vents........

The spider will think you are bigger than he/she is, so don't worry!

They're already in your house; you just haven't seen them yet!

These house spiders that your in such a hurry to get rid of, what do you think there preying on all year round ?, your asking for trouble if you try and eliminate them ...

Oh dear---obviously many of you havent heard of irrational fears

Im well aware of the good these creatures do, that theyre more frightened of me than i am of them(though i doubt it), etc, etc---but i cant even bear to look at them in close proximity---and believe me, i have tried!!
Use a spider catcher? How? When i couldnt even look to see where im directing the thing!!!

So.......a simple answer to my question with constructive advice given my 'affliction', would be VERY much appreciated.

I would suggest buying one repeller initially, to decide whether it'll work or not. As I said earlier, I don't think they'll work over more than one room. If it works, buy more. If it doesn't work, try something else!
