| | | Spider I.D, possible false widow? This spider has taken the washing line hostage. Possibly for the last 12 months as I remember seeing it there last summer. Only comes out at night, shiny black body. Location: Essex.
What species is this? A false widow? many thanks |

| | | Re: Spider I.D, possible false widow? I'd agree with Des on Nuctenea umbratica on closer inspection, the web spiral spacing is quite wide as you'd expect for this species also  . It's probably the flash that gives the light appearance.
