| | | Spider-mum! Thought you might like to take a look at this shot I got yesterday. Glad us humans don't have such a burden. I've no idea what species of spider but if anyone does it would be good to know.

The mothers carry the egg sacs around attached to the spinners. After the spiderlings hatch the mother carries them around for about 10 days I think. That's maternal devotion for you!
Here's one I took last year. 
So far this year I have only seen them with the egg sacs. |

| | | Re: Spider-mum! Thanks John. Lets face it- those spiderlings haven't really got anything to fear when they've got a ferocious predator for a mum as their own personal transport - other than the odd bird I suppose.
