ID Green checkered spider?

After finding a few puncture like holes in one of my half dead strawberry plants (damn the hot weather --- scorching them). I came across a 'spider' I glimpsed the other day, it is the size of a pin head, whiteish/clear legs + head, with a mainly green body with the white/clear colour making it checkered, and has spun a web right under the flowers. And I was wondering if it's a spider, and if it's a danger, or vice versa to my berries/plants.

If a picture is needed I might be able to get one (low res :S)

Now I have to dig out my usb - phone cable, hopefully I can upload a snap in about 8 hours. :P
And something else that's even strager, a kind of clear-white shoot with practically no roots about 3 cm up, 2 mm in diameter and the top/flower looked like a mushroom with the clearness and look of a soft-scaled insect, but it's now "dead" thanks to my Granda.:S
