hi,
My bf's dad saw this spider in a freight shipping car park where he works... we were worried that it may have hitched a lift from another country on one or more of the freights...
Please help by trying to answer these questions...
Is it native to this country?
Is it dangerous?
Does he need to tell anyone about its presence?
Sorry about the quality of picture... he zoomed up on it rather than go near it...

Hi,its hard to get an idea of size in the photo,there are no really large spiders in the uk.Any idea on size ? |

Hi maddy,there are a few spiders of that size in the uk,but i am not an expert,i am sure you will get some replies shortly from the experts  |

It's a bit of a blurred photo, but from the carapace I'd say it's a Tegenaria species - one of the House Spiders.
