| | | Re: Strtch spider with uninvited guest + 48 hours Again Polysphincta as i kind of mentioned in the other post in respect to my local patch. These often occur in colonies close to each other. You tend to get large numbers that fluctuate from year to year, I had a good year (the spiders didnt) last year. |

I think this could well be the same spider as my last post as it is in almost exactly the same spot on the tunnel wall. I though it would make an interesting post as this view shows the larva rather better.

Thanks for the update, it can only be the same individual for me I'd have thought. Quote:

I just put the victim and wasp down as having met-up around vegetation with the victim subsequently moving off to where I discovered it.
Take care, Jason

| | | Re: Strtch spider with uninvited guest + 48 hours Dan and Jason - It's a very wide tunnel opening with plenty of low, rough vegetation running right up to the tunnel entrance. It's roughly south west facing and the first 5m (or so) gets lots of sun in the afternoon. This spider was on the wall about a meter in. There are 5 similar tunnels under the A5 and they all make good insect and spider hunting grounds (for me) throughout the year.
