Spider with fiery looking abdomen
Stony Stratford, Bucks. 5th December 2009.

Size: ~3.25mm

Help with identification appreciated as always.

That's a pretty one!

It looks a little bit like a Seycellocesa vittatus (previously named Anelosimus vittatus), although I've never seen such a brightly coloured one.

Following up on your suggested id (Googling).....

Yes this was an unusually striking individual, both with naked eye and through the viewfinder. Size and general appearance (to a non-expert like me) seems right for S. vittatus and this excellent flickr pic of a juvenile (by Lord V) shows similar markings and bright colouring: Flickr Photo Download: Tiny money spider on the car
