| | | Re: Unidentified spider with interesting spinnerets Evening Bruce,
I just wonder if it may be a Clubonia sp. - they often tend to have this stretched shape with rather prominent spinnerets, and a pinky colour for some ssp. in my experience...
Take care, Jason |

| | | Re: Unidentified spider with interesting spinnerets Thanks Jason. I did some Googling on Clubonia and found some very similar pics including the same arrangement of the 8 eyes (unfortunately not shown too well in this pic).

| | | Re: Unidentified spider with interesting spinnerets Highly so I'd think. Do you have a photo? I'm sure one of WAB's Arachnid experts will confirm or other
Sorry UKW - but what is the O for on the end of your username? I've just been curious...

| | | Re: Unidentified spider with interesting spinnerets It looks more like a Gnaphosid to me than a member of the Clubionidae family. I'm not very familiar with the family but could it be a Scotophaeus species? Doing a quick google image search shows some similar specimens: Scotophaeus - Google Afbeeldingen
Hope this helps... |

| | | Re: Unidentified spider with interesting spinnerets Thanks for your help Frits and Des.
Perhaps I should have mentioned the size. It's a fairly accurate 6mm including spinnerets. I don't know if that helps any?
Des - I had to look it up but I see what you mean about the fovea - does it serve a purpose do you know?
