| | | Re: Resident spider for Id please Looks like one of the Araneidae - Orb Weavers. Possibly Araneus diadematus -the Garden Spider, but can't quite tell from the angle and exposure of the photo.

Gist-wise, I'd have to agree - A. diadematus was my first thought. It's quite a variable spider.

| | | Re: Resident spider for Id please It does make an orb type web, but the body is very spherical and nut-brown. Also it stays in the house, by the window, rather than nearby shrubs.
