| | | Average 30! Read in the paper this morning that every household will have an average of 30 spiders owing to the good breeding season this year! Lots of conkers needed. |

| | | Re: Average 30! Is that 30 small spiders or 30 big spiders?
If its big ones I think i'll move the kids out! Can't be doing with the screaming and the running away when they see one! |

| | Re: Average 30! We have a spider that sits by the door and asks to go out and we leave the door open and she comes back in when she's ready. All I can think of is that it needs a drink and it's dry indoors, (local pub 400 yds). This spider is gorgeous , we call her Mrs.Spider, and her husband who is smaller is called Mr.Spider.Sometimes he follows her out and sometimes he doesn't.They reside in the folds of the bottom of a full length curtain. They are quite big but very cute and sweet.I'm eagerly awaiting baby spiders, what time of year will that be? |

I no longer have cat food for my spiders, I once got pics of a house spider running off with a tiny piece of cat food in it's pincers, it went behind a cupboard. I saw one of the big Tegenaria on top of my biscuit bin recently, so I opened some cat food I had left and placed a chunk near it but it ignored it and went up the wall. Later it was on the ceiling, I'm seeing it in places not seen before so I thought it might be getting hungry. A few days later there was a dead one on the floor and I got worried, but I found a bigger one so it might have had dinner.

| | Re: Average 30! Yes I will leave some water, Now the flies are getting scarce I guess I should start to feed them too. What is their favourite thing to eat, cos as they won't eat much they might as well have the best. (as long as it is not caviar and truffles .) Suppose they wont breed 'til the spring now. |
