Brown spider with yellow stripe on abdomen
Stockgrove Country Park, Beds. On tall fence-post slightly above eye height.

I'm pretty sure that this is a male Araneus species and would appreciate confirmation on id so that I can upload to the Gallery.

Quite right, an Araneus species. It's Araneus diadematus, the Common Orb Weaver.
