Identify this spider please?

Came across this spider in my porch and would like to know what it is as never seen one like this before. I live in East London, near a reservoir.

Looks like a Garden Spider, they live in the garden or on the outside of the house, I have 5 in my front garden so far, they eat what they can catch, I try and rescue bees, butterflies or moths, if I can get to them first.

Impossible to be sure from your photo which doesn't show many details; however I would suspect Araneus quadratus which can be very variable in colouration. The abdomen, to me, looks a bit too round for Araneus diadematus (Garden Spider) although the markings are similar. But see what the more experienced members have to say.
