| | | Spider ID please! Hi,
I have found this spider in my eaves storage space. It is a small spider that looks allot darker in the flesh. Can you tell me what it is? I am sorry the pictures are not any better but myself and my husband are petrified of spiders and that was the closest I could get with a zoom!
Thanks in advance.

There are several experts on here, unfortunately i`m not one of them, but in the meantime have a look at some images of Steatoda (sp) on Google, and see if your spider is similar. Steatoda - Google Images |

| | | Re: Spider ID please! Hello again,
Thanks for the replies. I have managed to get a better (I think) Photo.
I am in Dover. The spider is living in total darkness, what is keeping it alive up there? Also, I hate to say it but I really need to get rid of it? My husband and I normally have to hoover up unwanted visitors as we are unable to use a glass etc. (far too scared, I know it is silly) but beacause of where it is I don't think I will be able to do it. I can't leave it there as it is in the childrens room and it also means that we can not get too anything in the eaves. Ironicaly, it is right ubove the halloween box I need to get too!!
Thanks again,

If you can get to the box, then you can get to it, surely.
Try a brush and a glass - just knock it into the glass (or jar if paranoid - with lid)
If all else fails use the hoover (1 spider death isn't going to make a difference)
These can give you a nip if provoked (always in self defense)
Just pop it somewhere dark when you move it (shed, coal house, etc.)
