Yes, I'll wait for that macro I think to confirm - but in the meantime I may suggest the common Missing-sector Orb-weaver, Zygiella X-notata in Latin, for the position/shape of the black markings between the abdomen and carapace ( thorax area in normal insects).

Here's a better pic of the little crawler:
I had a look at the pictures of the missing sector orb weaver on eurospiders and can barely tell the difference between the two - let alone which of them my friend is!
Does the better quality pic confirm your initial thoughts?
