Pisaura mirabilis [edit...] male
Nice spider, is a hunter that doesn't make a web, except a sort of webby greenhouse for its young. I usually spot them sunning themselves on nettles, get all sorts of lovely colour variations too.

Do you have a dorsal for the first? It suggests a Lycosidae, not too sure though without a top-down.

I came for the pond discussions, but spiders were my childhood favourite, so no surprise that I'm jumping in with "Ooh sir, I know sir..."
Yeah I'm thinking the first one is Lycosidae, one of the Pardosa species, if they're still called that.
