| | | Re: 6 legged spider? Male House spider - Tegenaria species.
This time of year they're intent on mating and so roam around looking for females. It could be that yours has tangled with one or more and suffered some damage in the process (they can eject legs voluntarily - autotomy - at the coxa should they be held by one).
He will remain in the bath as they cannot grip on ceramic, which is far smoother than glass. Dangle toilet tissue over the side to assist him or use the glass and card method.
No.9 Spider

| | | Re: 6 legged spider? Thank-you for the info, i would usually use card & glass but he is rather large for me I'm a bit scared (even so I don't like to kill them), i'll wait for my hubby to remove him to the neighbours garden later! |

| | | Re: 6 legged spider? I found that instead of toilet tissue, leaving a towel hanging over the side of the bath alows them to escape whenever they like and doesn't get strange looks from guests. |
