| | | Re: Spider ID's Could quite easily be wrong Ben but I think the last two are Orb web spider - Araneus quadratus. As you know though I'm no spider expert.
As it happens I had just uploaded one of them to the unidentified insects Gallery for confirmation myself so I will wait and see if I'm correct.

| | | Re: Spider ID's The last one as already i.d.'d is Araneus quadratus, the second one is Meta/Metellina either M. segmentata or M. mengei (looks immature).
The first shows the epigyne nicely and looks like another Araneus quadratus, probably just moulted to maturity hence the light and translucent look.

| | | Re: Spider ID's Hi Ben,
Not sure about the first...
The second is a Meta sp., and I agree with Roger for the last
Take care,

| | | Re: Spider ID's Thanks Roger & Jason.
I'm thinking that #1 might be A. diadematus ??
#2 was fascinating to watch; the darter was struggling like mad so the spider went to the edge of the web and waited for a minute or so, then ventured back for another bite when the ruckus abated. Then went back to the edge. I should've waited a bit longer to see how she was gonna cope wrapping up such a huge lunch.
