| | | At Last Another Erith Marshes Wasp Spider. Well after finding a Wasp Spider last year on my daily lunch break walks along the Thames river bank at Erith I was determined to find another this year. Yesterday after a couple of months of traipsing through long grass and bramble thickets I found one. Going on it's large size I'm suspecting it's a female.
I'm quite pleased with the picture considering it was taken with a mobile phone. |

Yes auto focus with a Sony Ericsson K850i set on macro held about 9" away. I must admit it was the best out of about 10 frames, the rest all well out of focus because either the wind was blowing the subject back and forth, or it decided to focus on the brambles behind. |

I persuaded her to leave it there and let it hatch. This was in Kent, which as far as I know is very far north for these spiders. |
