| | What spider is this? Every spider I've come across so far, I can identify. Except this one -
This one was found in my bedroom - in fact, it was crawling all over me during the night, lol not the best of experiences :P It was very quick at running, too.
So anyway, which spider is this? For some reason it reminds me of a Funnel Web.
Cheers! |

Nice, strong clear pattern.

| | | Re: What spider is this? Thanks! Yes, it's definately of that family. Looks a lot like Steatoda nobilis...
*reads* 'Commonly known as the biting spider'?? *faints* That thing was crawling on me whilst I slept??
Don't worry, though, the spider's safe. I don't go around killing all the spiders I come across
Thanks for all the help!! |

Please don't worry, if it meant to harm you it could have but it didn't so please don't worry about it. We are not it's intended prey.
These spiders are all along the south coast of England now and we have just got to live with them as best we can.
I speak as one who is highly allergic to venom of all sorts but I will not allow anything to spoil my love of nature in all it's diversity.
I was bitten on my left ear last weekend in my small garden by 'something' which caused a slight-ish reaction, i.e. urticaria rash and breathing problems but I held back on using my 'epipen' and the symptoms gradually disappeared, thank goodness!!!
