ID of small black spider
Hi, I have discovered an unfamilar black spider which seems to have appeared after a friend brought me an orchid.

It is just over 1cm in length and jet black with a white stripe over its abdomen with two symmetrical white dots at the very back. It also has a stripe across its thorax and its palp things are also white. Its abdomen is tiny in comparisson to the rest of it.

I have been through the photo's but cant find anything similar, but it does seem to jump a lot making me think its some kind of jumping spider.

Any ideas ? It's too small for my phone to get a decent pic of it unfortunately.

When guesstimating the size can you discount the legs ?, and is there any possibility of a photo ? ...

It seems to fit the description of a Salticidae (Jumping spider) species. Have you looked at Salticus species, such as Salticus scenicus?
