Spider for id please

Hello, i have been finding these spiders ever since i returned to north devon about 3 years ago, having grown up here and never noticing them before i am puzzelled as too what they are.

They seem to get no bigger than about 20mm in body length with maybe same sort of size in legs, although most seem about half that size. There webs are horizontal sheets which they seem to hang from belly up. More pictures could be supplied (if i can get the camera to focus) as they are quite common in the garden shed, and around plant pots. I had thought false widow but the lack of particularly white markings has made me doubt this sumwhat. Any thoughts peeps?

Certainly looks like a Steatoda sp - sadly their markings can be faint to non-existent.

A top down shot would help.

Sure looks like Steatoda nobilis to me as well. Venger is the spider expert to be guided by....... I am just a novice here......

We have this species all along the south coast now.
