A spider in Cyprus

Yes, I know this isn't British wildlife, and I am sorry, but I hoped there might be a chance somebody will know what this is. My sister is in Cyprus and found this spider and she has Googled it but had no luck. Does anybody know? Thankyou.

Looks like Argiopes lobata, check it out and see if the pictures fit.

I make no apologies for answering this, though it is not British Wildlife, as this is clearly stated in the title of the query, giving us the choice of ignoring it or answering.

The male is very small compared to the female, perhaps 1/50 the size.
