Would be grateful for Spider IDs, and which spider spins the intriguing web.

ps What did the spider do with the ball of silk, it was there one minute and gone the next. Did it just cut it out and drop it.

Unfortunately the underside shots of spiders are generally not helpful in getting an idea of species, from the top (dorsal view) is best.
Some spiders eat their silk at the end of a shift.
