| | | Spider and egg sac ID On a recent trip to the Exmoor Moors I unearthed this little lady under a stone amongst the heather. Approx 10mm from spinnerets to fangs. The pics show her egg sac and spiderlings. I think it may be impossible to ID species but a genus would be good please. |

| | | Re: Spider and egg sac ID Just going by colour and general shape I would think that a Woodlouse Spider, Dysdera erythrina, is worth a look. |

| | | Re: Spider and egg sac ID Iwill be honest its not like any Dysdera I have ever come across. But I can see a small resemblance |

| | | Re: Spider and egg sac ID Coelotes was my first guess as it is similar to Amaurobius in appearance but not like any I have seen. C.terrestris appears to fit not only with appearance (which is always risky) but also with the habitat so thanks for the help guys |

| | | Re: Spider and egg sac ID Either C.terrestris or C.atropos they look similar, it all depends where they were in the UK

| | | Re: Spider and egg sac ID Most likely is C. atropos given the location, though the distribution doesn't quite hit your site. Having said that C. terrestris is a Nationally Scarce (Notable B) species! C. atropos http://www.britishspiders.org.uk/ind...NSYS0000008844 C. terrestris http://www.britishspiders.org.uk/ind...NSYS0000008845
No.9 Spider
