Unidentified Spider

Any ideas on this Arachnid? It was found in a bunch of Bananas! May be native to South America.

size for this sp is 1cm length, 0.5cm wide. Will attempt to get some more pics.

Sorry, best I can get. Am reluctant to open container with spider in as it is a pretty quick mover and do not want it to get away incase it is not a native sp.

Any suspected immigrant spider species needs to be kept under strict lock and key, that goes without saying.

does anyone know if Amaurobius fenestralis are poisonous. I've been seeing a little too much of them around my house here lately and I have two small children am concerned for their safety.

You mean venomous (poison is ingested), and yes they can bite, but always in self defence - treat them with the same respect you give to bees or wasps (bites are similar to wasp stings, not heard of anyone requiring medical attention - unless they are allergic), bites are quite rare though.
They've been in your house far longer than you have and you haven't been bitten, in your street, city, town and how many people have you heard been bitten?
Not many, if any.
So relax, just teach you kids to observe and don't touch

It looks very much like a wolf spider, but nothing like i have seen in the Uk.
Can i have it??? will pay postage?
