| | | another id please hiya,
its taken me a while to hunt round the tinterweb, trying to find the vast amount of intelect to be found here
very very impressed
ive been hunting around my gerden and found several species of spiders that i would like identifying
i am terrible at latin names but i think ive managed to find most of the common ones
i think... the spiders ive got are
tube webs
candy stripes
walnut orb weavers
garden/cross orb weavers
nursary webs
ive got a couple of others ive not identified
one looks like a tube web but has longer thinner legs and is brown
and one that looks like a small fat house spider or cobweb spider
not to mention one that im sure is some kind of steadota but i dont know which or if its one of the ones with the nasty bite
on that..... do any of these have a bite that could harm my 4 and 5 year old boys, they know they dont need to be scared of the spiders if they just let them be, but i wouldnt mind knowing just incase
cheers

| | | Re: another id please Hi CH, welcome to WAB
Please upload unnamed/confirmation shots to the Image Archive. The names sound right for garden species. |

| | | Re: another id please Hi Chunky,
Yes, yay for you!!
Some to try for starters... 1: Amaurobius sp. - Tangled-nest Spider 2: Meta sp., I think! 3: Steatoda bipunctata - Rabbit-hutch Spider 4: Pisaura sp., maybe P. mirabilis - Nursery-web Spider 5: Enoplognatha ovata - Candy-stripe Spider 6: Not too sure...
