| | | help to id scary black spider hi i was in the garden last night and the below spider came down her web towards me at first i thought it was a black widow but is too big and no red dot on it.
its about 1inch in size inc legs and body the joints on legs are slighltly white/clear and has small black raised dots on back it also has white dots on underbelly of abdoman after catching it in a jar it played dead until lid was taken off then it moved.
it this spider harmful can it bite and should i take it too local wildlife park

They can be grumpy, depending on the spider, so don't stick your fingers in its face!
Just treat them with the same respect as you would a wasp or a bee.
