Hi everyone,
I know this place is called wild about Britain, but its the most active Spider forum I could find!
Could someone please identifiy this Spider please?
Scared the xexexexe out of us when it wriggled past us up a pole on a night time romantic boat trip!

But the editors may step in because this site is dedicated to Wild About Britain ,
But don't worry we have a sister site Wild About The World which deals more with foreign sightings, I regulary jump between the two sites myself, so do the spider guys

From it's appearance and considering the location (water that is) I'd say it's a fishing spider, what species I've no idea.

If you go on Yahoo images and search 'spider greece' there are alot of similar looking pics (mostly linked to Flickr website), maybe its worth contacting someone on there and asking if they managed to get an ID? One pic was taken near a river so it could be a fishing species as No.9 said? |
