| | | Re: Scorpions Euscorpius flavicaudis, commonly known as the European Yellow-Tailed Scorpion has been found in a few locations in the UK for at least 30 years and probably much longer as far as I can recall. I'm not certain of the exact sites, mainly S.E. England I seem to remember. There was a programme on TV many years ago that investigated a well established colony at a railway station somewhere.

I don't really know much about insects I just like learning about them. |

| | | Re: Scorpions they very rarely sting, usually cathing and immobilising prey with their claws. the sting is described as 'only a pinprick for humans'
unlikely to be up north as it seems they don't like very wet climates
note: here is a little fact for you, a 'poisonous' item or creature is only harmful when eaten. Creatures that administer the harmful substance in other ways are venomous.

I don't really know much about insects I just like learning about them. | Spiders and Scorpions come under the classification of Arachnids, not insects.
You would have to eat a lot of them to be poisoned by them .
Poison is ingested, Venom is injected.
In answer to your question though they are venemous but mildly so and so no threat to the population in general.
Try Googling Euscorpius flavicaudis ,you may find known sites.

| | | Re: Scorpions There's a site here ( Information about European scorpions found in the UK ) about scorpions in the UK. Most established colony seems to be Sheerness dockyard in Kent with a few others appearing and then vanishing again at other southern ports.
Addition : just noticed that the site is no longer being maintained so may well be out of date.
