| | | Tegenaria bite? has there been any recored of any bites by any of the tegenaria spp? i belive to have been bitten once when living in Fleetwood. however, people tell me i must have confused it with another spider? does anyone know if there has been any official or unofficial record of a tegenaria bite, and if so, what would the symptoms of such a bite be?

| | | Re: Tegenaria bite? I have always believed (told many moons ago) that Tegenaria was the only genus of British spiders that had strong enough jaws to actually get through human skin. No venom though, just a pricking sensation. It has never happened to me but I have never questioned it

My brother picked one out of the bath once and it bit him as he picked it up by grabbing it with one hand . It drew blood on his finger like a pin prick. I know it hurt because he said "Ahya xexexexexexexe!!" and quickly threw the spider out of the window. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
