How about E.Ovata ?
Dunc | Sorry to confuse !
It does have some red along the sides, which apparently Enoplognatha ovata does, but I have no idea - is this identifiable down to genus level , if not species?
What am I looking for? What are anulated legs?
Do I need to look for her again?
If so, will an underneath shot do it?
Thanks all, in my spider ignorance,
Ken

Ken, annulated legs means it has rings of colour on its legs, and I think you're confusing M.mengei with M.merianae
Although its of a similar size Dunc, spine placement is different, especially on legs I
I contacted Ian Dawson about this, who's experience is far greater than mine ,
His reply below: This is Metellina mengei or segmentata, presumably the former if the photo is recent as mengei is generally mature in spring/early summer, segmentata in late summer/autumn. They are pretty variable in colour, but the shape and pattern are typical. On the shots from above you can also see the characteristic pattern on the head/thorax.

This was spotted only this last week so Metellina Mengei seems most right.
Cheers everyone, heres to the next one in the greenhouse!
