| | | Salticus scenicus/cingulatus I wonder if anyone has ever seen S.cingulatus ?, i presume the one below is S.scenicus, but its not the usual colour, the abdomen is a light brown and white, all the others i have seen are black and white ...

| | | Re: Salticus scenicus/cingulatus Yea the colour can vary somewhat. the S scenicus that i have in my garden can look brownish on the abdomen. i belive that Salticus scenicus has the best eyesight of any arthropod. that came up in an exam i had to do at uni on inverts in the UK! |

It really needs a dorsal view of the abdomen, though I think this looks OK for S. cingulatus... any other shots? If so, look for dark triangular markings on the abdomen.
