Labulla thoracica ?
I dont have this particular spider in my books, so i`m unsure of its size in relation to this specimen, which was around 4mms long, it had a pretty big sheet web, about 24" by 6", quite big for a spider of this size ...

Gordon - This species is described in The Country Life Guide to Spiders of Britain and Northern Europe (Dick Jones). The size is given as female c. 5mm and male 4-5mm. The description and photo is a very good match to your pic (yours is generally a little lighter).
