If it was under my hand, it would be close top, bottom, then palps and epigyne (spider porn, underneath, behind the major body division.)
I just had a day about veteran trees, there were 15 to to ID from small twigs with rather wilted leaves. I didn't score very high, that's not how I see trees. For a good ID you need to see the movement, the habitat, the whole flick that can let you say that this is one thing or the other.
Just had a closer look (bigger screen) I can't sustain the arguement that it is male, part of what I was looking at was part of the victim it is eating.

| | | Re: Spider I.D needed please I'd agree with Meta menardi on species Xysticus cristatus, though female.

| | | Re: Spider I.D needed please Do we have a size?
While X.cristatus is most likely it could also be X.kochi, depends on the size (and obviously the epigyne)
Males tend to have dark femurs and patellas (it's similar on both species)

| | | Re: Spider I.D needed please Conclusion is defintely a Xysticus sp, most likely X. cristatus with a remote chance of it being X. kochi .
