Be-jeweled spider?

Hi
While looking at some small fungi I spotted movement and came across this little fellow.

I don't know whether the "bits" on its back are debris held there by a sticky skin or actually growing.
I am not really looking for an identification but just thought you might like to see it. It was under 20x magnification so is less than 1mm across.

I think this is probably of the Acari, being one the mites rather than a spider. There appears to be only one segment to the body and the legs and mouthparts aren't quite right for a spider.
