| | water spiders help Hello all,
I have no idea with spiders -saw these two out today in the same pond, at high level, peaty, in the pennines - they may be the same spp?
Apologies for images, partic if they arent clear enough for ID -I am a starter with these!
Any help appreciated.
Cheers
Ken

| | | Re: water spiders help They're both Lycosids (wolf spiders), most likely a Pirata spp.
Looks like it James, 1st one looks like a P.piraticus though with size and all the rest that's not 100% confirmed.

| | | Re: water spiders help thanks everyone - I thought wolfs/pirata might be right, but I only had a beginners brief guide - I can now research better for the different lycosid species, but piraticus is a good bet to start.
Cheers
