| | | Long spider for identification Stony Stratford, Bucks. 1st March 2009. Spider pressed flat to fence post.
Pic2 is the same pic showing scale bar.
Help with identification appreciated as always.

However I would suggest having a look at Tetragnatha extensa; or a close relative. |

| | | Re: Long spider for identification Firstly: Apologies for a very misleading scale bar. Please note that the whole scale measures just 1mm NOT 2mm as the position of the number might suggest. I will modify it before uploading to the WAB Gallery.
Thanks Geoff, I've done some Googling on your suggested id and there is a very strong resemblance. I saw no evidence of the long mandibles that you usually see in long-jawed spiders (I have pics from other viewpoints). Are they just hidden under the pedipalps do you think?
