Zelotes?

This guy seemed to have crawled out from under a gutter on the back wall of the house. He stopped dead when the security nightlight came on. Would say he was 10mm fangs-spinners and was found in Bristol. I want to class it in zelotes genus but am unsure.

Not really much to go on here. Zelotes latreillei is all black with rather hairy legs and upto 8mm but there are a few similar although slightly rarer forms of Zelotes.

Also, considering the habitat, I do wonder about a dark form of Tegenaria but can't really think which one to suggest.

Really? Thats quite interesting as it does look a little like tegenaria, but I never knew you could get a dark almost pure black version

I'm sure it's not Tegenaria and I think Zelotes unlikely. First impressions I think it has a look of a male Segestria florentina.

I think thats a very good call on thae pic. Segestria florentina certainly fits the spec, I think I'm happy to go with that, thanks alot
