| | | Re: Spider Id's please Tiny pics aren't helping.
When you ask for an ID please give the size of the spider (excluding legs), location in the UK and habitat. It make sID'ing much easier.
Anyway (because they're small, you just get genus rather than species I'm afraid)
1: Looks like a Tegenaria sp
2: Clubiona sp
3: Amaurobius sp
4: Clubiona sp possibly.

| | | Re: Spider Id's please Thanks for the help. I do have larger pics (approx 3500 pixel size as opposed to the posted 350 size) but was worried the forum wouldnt upload such a large file. Would this, along with siz, etc, help get closer to a species rather than just the genus? |

| | | Re: Spider Id's please Think its 800 X 600 up to 1600 X 1600 pixels for photos, you'll have to check.
It would help, certain species (like Tegenaria) you're going to need a microscope, as they are very similar.
Although that's true for all spiders, we (WAB that is) aren't super strict on it, so you'll get a best guess (you can't really ID to species level from a photo at all, not 100% confirmed at any rate!)

| | | Re: Spider Id's please Okay guys thats fair enough. I know many species are so physically similar that you need them under the microscope to ID fully. Will post some bigger pics soon. Thanks | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
